Upon entering the village of Piles, visitors will see the small yet interesting Agricultural Museum, which has been designed with a view to presenting rural life in Karpathos as faithfully as possible.

It is an open-air museum with nice cobblestone paths that lead to a quaint windmill, a threshing floor, a wine press, a wood oven, and a traditional farmhouse with a collection of agricultural tools used in the past centuries. There is also a small amphitheater where guests can listen to presentations given by the host. All around the museum, there are lush vines and citrus trees, as well as farm animals including an adorable donkey.

Despite its small size, the Agricultural Museum of Piles offers a unique glimpse into the local agriculture lifestyle in former times, allowing visitors, especially children, to familiarize themselves with tools and processing techniques that are no longer part of our everyday lives.
