Karpathos Othos

General information

Othos Village Karpathos: Othos is a mountainous village located 12 km north west of Pigadia, the capital of Karpathos and close to Aperi village. It lies on the hill slopes at a high altitude of 500 metres offering a striking view to the sea.

It has a population of about 300 inhabitants most of whom are involved in farming and agriculture. Colorful houses painted in lilac and white create the beautiful atmosphere of the village built amidst vineyards and lush green forests.

Othos is famous for its sweet red wine, its excellent taverns and its traditional feasts. Eight to ten festivals are organized every year, most of them during the summer months.

The most interesting of all is the festival for the celebration of Agios Pandeleimon which lasts for three days and attracts all the inhabitants of the island. Rooms and apartments are available here. In close distance is the village of Piles.
