Recipe of Cod In Lemon Sauce
DescriptionThis dish is called "cod lemonatos" in Greek. It is a traditional recipe of Kalymnos and you will find it in almost all restaurants on the island.
Ingredients- 6 cod fillets –salt taken
- 1 small glass of olive oil
- 2 medium-sized onions – thick cut
- 5 leeks – thick cut
- 5-6 celery sprigs – thick cut
- fresh onion
- 1 kg potatoes, cut in rolls
- white pepper
- lemon juice from 2-3 lemons
- 1 spoonful flour
- some warm water
PreparationPut the olive oil in a pot and add the onions to be sautéed. Add then the leeks, the celery, the fresh onion, the warm water, cover the pot and leave them some minutes, so as that the ingredients get soft. Afterwards, add the potatoes in layers over the vegetables and add some more hot water until they get covered. Put white pepper, cover the pot and leave for 10 minutes. Add the cod pieces and let the food be cooked and in the meanwhile, prepare the mash: In a bowl put the lemon juice and the flour and whip them up to a mash. Add 3 spoonfuls brewis from the pot and stir. After 5 minutes approximately, add the mash in the pot, move well the pot to be poured all over the food and serve in dishes.
