Kalymnos Platis Yialos beach

General information

Located 7 kilometers northwest of Pothia and less than 3 kilometers from Panormos village, Platis Yialos is one of the most beautiful beaches in Kalymnos. It stands out for its soft dark sand, which contrasts with the light-colored pebbles and magnificent azure hues of the sea, as well as for its glorious sunsets. Even on windy days, the sublime sunset views against the backdrop of Agia Kyriaki islet make Platis Yialos a great destination.

The beach is partly organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, while an excellent tavern also stands near the beach, serving delightful dishes. Don’t forget to bring your mask, as Platis Yialos is a great spot for snorkeling.

To reach this paradise, one can take the local bus from Pothia. South of Platis Yialos, visitors will also find other lovely beaches, such as Kantouni and Linaria.
