Kalymnos Akti beach

General information

Located on the eastern coast of Kalymnos, on the road that leads to Vathy, the secluded Akti is a lovely beach with fine sand and crystalline turquoise waters which are ideal for snorkeling. It is not organized and there are no beach facilities whatsoever, but a few tamarisk trees offer some protection from the sun. On windy days, the waters might be a bit turbid, as there is a fish farm in the vicinity of the beach. Akti is quite popular with local families, but the only way to get there is by car via a somewhat rough dirt road.
