Halki is a small island of the Dodecanese, geographically located very close to Rhodes. It is known as the island of peace and friendship due to the international gathering of young people from all over the world that takes place in early September. Small and quiet, Halki is a great destination for peaceful holidays. Except for swimming in the calm beaches, there is not much sightseeing to do in Halki. Most of the beaches in Halki are accessible only by foot or jeep and remain totally secluded even in high season.
The church of Agios Nikolaos is the protector of the island. Located in Nimborio, the church distinguishes for its impressive bell tower. It was built in 1861 and hosts interesting frescoes.
This strong Medieval Castle stands impressively on top of barren rock. It was built in the 14th century by the Knights of Saint John.

Description: Nimporio is the capital and main port of Halki. Built on the slopes of a hill, it has traditional style and a lovely waterfront to stroll around.
Location: 500 metres west of Halki
Description: Potamos (or Pondamos) is an organized crystal beach very close to the capital village. Along with Kania beach, this is one of the most popular beaches on this small island.
