Astypalea Agios Andreas beach
Agios Andreas Beach Astypalea: The beach of Agios Andreas lies 7 km to the northwest of Astypalea town. It is found right on the strait that connects the two parts of Astypalea and can be reached by a dirt road. The small fishing village of Agios Andreas lies around the bay where regular trips are organized to the nearby beaches or islands.
Relatively less crowded as compared to the main port of Pera Yialos, the beach of Agios Andreas is a sandy coast that has managed to escape the ravages of package tourism. There is very little vegetation around it, as a rocky coastline and arid landscapes surround the beach. On the hill slopes stands a tiny church, one of the oldest remains of Agios Andreas.
