Marble Craft Museum in Pyrgos

A whole quarry has been set up in the newly built Museum of Marble Craft that was inaugurated on Pyrgos, Tinos Island. Modern, pleasant and attractive, the new museum belongs to the thematic museums network organized by the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation. At Pyrgos, home of the famous Greek sculptor Giannoulis Halepas, a brilliant tradition of mining and carving of the marble is raising, a local culture connected with works of art and ways of living. The Museum of Marble Craft is the new sight of Tinos.
