International Literature Festival

Jul 29, 2010 — Jul 31, 2010 • Category: Events

The first International Literature Festival will take place in Tinos from July 29th to 31st. 27 writers and poets from 18 countries are invited to participate in this festival that is organized by the non-profitable artistic union "Society of Dekata". This is a multi-national and multi-cultural event for the promotion not only of literature, but of arts, too, as musicians, dancers and actors from Tinos will present their work. The aim of this festival is to make Tinos a meeting point for modern world literature, as this is the island where the East meets the West, the Aegean meets the Mediterranean. Through speech, dancing, music, reading and communicating, the cultures come together and find contact pins. During the three days of the festival, the flags of all the participating countries will be raised at the port of Tinos.
