Syros Schizomenes Gorge

Location: Aetos

Schizomenes is a rocky double canyon near the cave of Lentinou in northwestern Syros! The gorge’s gap is about 2.5 meters wide and was created after soil subsidence! Furthermore, this beautiful canyon is used as a hiding place for birds, while its vegetated side is a host to many different plants!

The gorge is a fantastic spot to enjoy sea and sunset views, though it can only be reached by following a hiking trail, which can be tough to find! In addition, it is highly recommended that you do not approach this double ravine up close since there is a danger of landslides.
