Located in the center of Ermoupolis, the Museum of Cycladic Art in Syros was founded in 1983 after the sponsorship of John and Helen Vati. Hosted in the Cultural Center of Ermoupolis, the museum is housed in an impressive two-floored neoclassical building, designed in 1862 by the renowned architect Pietro Sampo.

The exhibition includes replicas of the exhibits that are showcased in the Cycladic Art Museum; the main aim of the institution is to familiarize the audience with the Cycladic civilization, regarded as one of the most significant ones in human history. Dating back to the 3rd millennium BC, the Cycladic civilization thrived and its characteristic minimalistic figurines are considered a pivotal moment in terms of artistic expression and creativity.
