Location: Ermoupolis

Located in the center of Hermoupolis in Miaoulis Square, the Cycladic Art Museum of Syros was founded in 1983 with the sponsorship of John and Helen Vati. Hosted in the Cultural Center of Hermoupolis, the museum is housed in an impressive two-floored neoclassical edifice, designed in 1862 by the renowned architect Pietro Sampo.

The exhibition includes replicas of the exhibits that are showcased in the Goulandris Cycladic Art Museum; the main aim of the institution is to familiarise the audience with the magnificent Cycladic civilisation, regarded as one of the most significant ones in the human history. Dating back to the 3rd millennium B.C., the Cycladic civilization thrived and its characteristic minimalistic figurines are considered a pivotal moment in terms of artistic expression and creativity.

The museum frequently organizes guided tours for adults and children as well as seminars, cultural events and programs.
