Syros International Music Festival 2024
The second edition of the Syros International Music Festival is set to take place from the 19th to the 24th of November 2024, in the historic Apollo Theater in Ermoupolis. Under the artistic direction of violinists Asi Matathias and Tosca Opdam, the festival will feature world-class chamber music performed by globally renowned artists along with a host of musical activities.
Attendees will get to enjoy a uniquely varied concert repertoire. Performances of pieces written by seminal romantic composers Antonín Dvořák and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky as well as classical pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are sure to enthrall audiences. The list of artists showcased under the Syros International Music Festival banner includes Canadian Juno Award-winning cellist Amanda Forsyth, renowned Dutch violinist Tosca Opdam, Georgian pianist Nino Gvetadze, and Croatian clarinetist Marija Pavlovic.
The festival will also hold two concerts intended to reach younger audiences, on the 20th and 22nd of November. Three educational masterclasses will be held as well, offering visitors the chance to dive deeper into the art of musical performance and composition. Patrons who have donated to the festival organization are offered special privileges, including access to exclusive events.
