International Animation Festival 2010

The International Animation Festival and Forum Animasyros 3.0 will take place from September 30th to October 3rd in the beautiful island of Syros Cyclades. This is the third time that this annual festival takes place in Syros and constitutes an initiative of Platforma-Urban Culture Co, in collaboration with the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Hermoupolis, the capital of the island. Greek and international animation producers will take part in the festival and screenings will be in Apollo Theatre and the rooms of the Cultural Centre of Hermoupolis. There will be a competition section and special screening tributes to the Canterbury Animation Festival (UK) and the Animation Workshop (Denmark). The aim of the festival is to familiarize the Greek audience with animation films and to decentralize cultural events. Apart from the festival, a three-day forum will also take place with the participation of international animation organizations, creators, production companies, animation studios, educational seminars and other relevant professionals. A large party will take place on Sunday October 3rd with the announcement of the winning films. Entrance is free of charge to all screenings and the party of the festival.
