1st Cycling Tour of Syros

The Organization of Culture and Sports of Syros organizes the 1st Cycling Tour of Syros on Sunday, October 14th, 2012. The departure point is Kamares, while the route will be the following: Ano Syros- Heroon Square (through Lalakia)- Galissas- Finikas- Poseidonia- Megas Gyalos- Vari and the terminal is Miaouli Square, Hermoupolis. The tour starts at 10 am but cyclists are asked to come to the departure point at least half an hour before in order to register. Along the route, there will be stands where local cultural associations will offer water and refreshing drinks to the participants, while at the end of the tour all cyclists will get souvenir diplomas and T-shirts with ecological messages. The 1st Cycling Tour of Syros is not a race but more like an excursion around the island, to get to know Syros better and to introduce the use of bicycles into daily life. Participants who do not own a bicycle will get the chance to use one of the bicycles offered especially for this occasion by Maistrali Bicycle Rental (till end of stock).
