Recipe of Garbanzos


This recipe is traditional of Sifnos island, Cyclades, but it is pretty common all over Greece. Quick and delicious dish, if you like garbanzos.

- 1 kg of garbanzos
- 2 big onions chopped
- 1 glass of olive oil
- salt
- some flour

Leave the garbanzos into a bowl of water for about 10-12 hours in order to soften and get the appropriate size. Then wash them well with water until most of their peel is removed. Put them into a casserole, add the chopped onions, some salt and pour the olive oil on them. Powder 1 or 2 cups of flour and blend well. Then add water so that the garbanzos are covered with it. Boil in medium temperature for about 1 hour and a half. When the garbanzos are served, you can add some oregano or pepper and lemon juice on top to make it tastier.
