Serifos Sunset Race 2024

The 10th Serifos Sunset Race is set to once again take place on the picturesque island of Serifos on the 14th and 15th of September 2024. Established in 2013, this highly popular sporting event is one of the most important in all of the Cyclades and sees over 2500 participants from all over the world every year.

The opening ceremony of the event will be held on Friday the 13th in the central square of Serifos Chora and will include loud music, dancing, and a myriad of local delicacies. The racing program will start on the morning of Saturday the 14th with the 500 and 1,000-meter children’s races on the main road of Livadi. On Saturday afternoon, the 5 and 10-km races will occur, taking participants on a unique route through the gorgeous beaches of Vagia, Ganema, and Koutalas. Finally, on Sunday the 15th, the children’s swimming races will be held, followed by the 750, 1,500, and 3,000-meter swimming races at the beach of Avlomonas.

An award ceremony will be held at the end of both days, with special prizes being given to the fastest contestants and medals being awarded to all those who participated. Those interested in registering for one of the races can do so for the price of a small admission fee. Participation in the children’s races is free of charge and requires written permission from their parents.
