Located in Megalochori village, 1260 Ceramic Studio was founded and is run by artists Marina Taliadourou and Giannis Vlantonopoulos. Their hand-made objects, both practical and decorative, are created from organic, non-toxic materials, each one being the result of a personal design. They take inspiration from the life and nature of Santorini and its distinct colors. The ceramicists use unique techniques, including the once-fired high-temperature one, where pieces are fired only once at 1260°C - explaining the studio’s name.
Guests can visit the exhibition area as well as the studio’s workshop, where they can observe the creation process of the ceramics and pottery. In addition, they can arrange a private lesson to gain first-hand experience. Classes can be scheduled by directly contacting the studio.
