How to get to Vothonas

There are many different ways to get to Vothonas from any location on the island.
Airport to Vothonas: 3 Km / 1.8 miles | Port to Vothonas: 7 Km / 4.3 miles | Fira to Vothonas: 4 Km / 2.4 miles

Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport or your hotel. Car rental: Τhere’s the option of renting a car with as little as 14.5 euros per day and pick it up directly from the airport, port or your hotel. Using a car rental allows visitors to discover Vothonas and many other places of interest at their own pace.

Public transfers: In Vothonas village lies the 6th stop of the bus route Fira > Kamari. Fira is where the central bus station of the island is located. There are bus connections between this bus station and the most areas of the island. There are buses to Kamari approximately every hour. From Santorini airport to Vothonas: There’s a bus station at the airport located between the arrivals and departures buildings. The buses that depart from there take visitors to the main bus station in Fira village, which is 5 km away. There is a bus from Santorini airport to Fira approximately every hour. From Fira, visitors should take another bus to reach Vothonas, following the route Fira > Kamari.
From Santorini port (Athinios) to Vothonas: The bus station is located on the port of Santorini. From there, visitors who have arrived by ferry can take a bus to Fira Central bus station, which is 8.5 km away. From Fira, visitors should take another bus to reach Vothonas, following the route Fira > Kamari.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop in every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination, so that he makes a stop there.
