Our next stop is at Kamari Village where you have the chance to enjoy your lunch by the black sand beach. Continuing we make a stop at 11th century Byzantine Church located in Mesa Gonia Village, Panagia Episkopi Church. Located in the village of Episkopi Gonia (also known as Mesa Gonia) is the beautiful Byzantine church of Panagia Episkopi. The church is considered the best example of traditional ecclesiastical architecture, it was built in the late 11th Century by Emperor Alexios A’ Komninos. The church is an important Byzantine monument. It houses the icon of Panagia Glikofilousa, one of the third most priceless portable icons in the world.
Before we return you to your hotel we will make a last stop at Canava distillery, the only distillery of the island for ouzo and liquor production. We will visit the distillery's museum and sample some ouzo and other local spirits, that stand out for their aromas, taste and of exceptional quality.
