Akrotiri excavations and sunset dinner cruise
In this amazing one-day tour, you will have the opportunity to combine total relaxation with sightseeing: our program includes visits to picturesque locations, sites of major historic significance as well as carefree dives into the spectacular waters!
Our tour starts off at 10.30, and after picking you up from your hotel, we head towards the traditional settlement of Emporio, admittedly one of the most picturesque villages of the island. There, we will have time to stroll through the narrow white-stone pavements and admire the charming Cycladic architecture. Afterwards, we will visit the notorious prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri, an archaeological site of major significance, famous around the world as the inspiration of Plato for the creation of the Myth of Atlantis. Through the guided tour (led by a licenced tour guide) you will get acquainted with the so-called “Pompei of the prehistoric era” and learn more about the once flourishing civilization and its rich legacy that were brought to light by the excavations.
Next on, we embark on a 5-hour catamaran cruise around the volcanic islets nearby the imposing caldera. Sit back and relax, admiring the endless blue and the wild Cycladic landscape unfolding before your eyes. During our sea wandering, we will visit three major Santorini beaches - the Hot Springs, the Red and the White beaches - which will awe you with their rare volcanic beauty and unspoiled setting. You will have the chance to dive, snorkel or even try a therapeutic mudbath! While on board, you will enjoy a mouthwatering barbeque prepared by our professional staff, alongside with free premium local white wine and soft drinks. Our tour ends by sailing towards the north cape of Santorini, to admire the breathtaking view of Oia in the amazing fading light of the sunset.
Note: The entrance fees in Akrotiri are not included (12 euros per person).
