Koutsogiannopoulos Wine Museum in Santorini is located in Vothonas village, and is a must-experience for every wine lover!
It took the Koutsogiannopoulos family 21 years to complete this cultural gem. The museum boasts everything someone would like to know about the wine-making process in an incomparable space, as well as a uniquely designed area for wine tasting.

Nestled in a cave eight meters below the ground, the museum holds rare machinery and tool exhibits for visitors to admire.
Throughout the museum, guests are informed about all the stages of the wine-making process. That includes vineyard plowing, harvesting, stomping, and weighing of the grapes, as well as the necessary machinery for winemaking all the way through to what is used nowadays.
There are also representations of what life was like for vine growers from the 1600s until today.
The museum provides automatic audio guides and guidebooks to anyone interested. Audio guides are available in 14 languages, while guidebooks are in 22.

How to get there

The Wine Museum is situated on the main road towards Kamari. You can get there via car, taxi, or public transportation. They also offer two private parking areas that are free of charge for visitors.

By Car / Taxi

The distance between Fira and the Wine Museum is around 5 km, and the drive lasts approximately 15 minutes.
A limited number of taxis serve the whole island, so we don’t recommend relying on a taxi but using a car instead.
