The Church of Holy Cross in Santorini is located in the central square of Perissa, just above the beach and is among the largest churches on the island.
The church was established in 1835-1840, but after the severe earthquake of 1956, the church was reconstructed. The reconstruction revealed the foundations of two three-aisled basilicas, which indicates that the original church was built on top of them. Unfortunately, the two basilicas have been completely ruined.

Fira is where the central bus station of the island is located. Bus connections between this bus station and most areas of the island are available. There are buses to Perissa approximately every 1.5 hours. Note that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
