Underwater Volcanic Formations

• Category: News
Greek scientists with the help of a submarine robot have discovered a complex of underwater volcanic formations in the region to the west of Santorini. These volcanic formations are in sea depth of 160 metres and they are actually small volcanoes. They are formed on the seabed when lava is coming up from the internal of the Earth. When this volcanic material meets the sea water, is frozes and gets solid, taking a cone shape.
