Classico Cafe-Restaurant is located in the heart of Fira on the edge of the caldera and enjoys breathtaking views of the boundless blue of the Aegean and the caldera. Opened in 1998, the Classico is basically a cafeteria which serves light meals and all kind of hot and cold beverages. Most people wander in to experience the cozy ambiance and linger over a coffee or a brunch while they admire the panoramic views of the chapel of Agios Minas, the caldera and the maze of tiny houses perched on the cliff side, from the tiny balcony.

The cafeteria dishes out tasty omelets, snacks, cheese and Greek olives, as well as light meals comprising club sandwiches, grilled pork or seafood plates of shrimp, salmon, octopus and various shell-fish. One of their specialties is the fruit bowl, which is a must try. The dish is served as a tiny boat filled with a variety of fresh fruits, including peaches, pears, strawberries topped with whipped cream. Although the menu is not very elaborate, the dishes that are offered are prepared to perfection and they are presented in an attractive manner.

The Greek coffee and peach ice tea are popular with the guests, and their salads and homemade ice creams are amazing, competing with the soft melodies that are discreetly played in the background. The Classico sits on Ypapantis street, the most cosmopolitan avenue of Fira.
