Location: Golden Beach

Sun Wind Surf Club is situated in Golden Beach, a beautiful stretch of golden sand mingling with crystal-clear waters. Its location is perfect for watersports, as the wind is amplified because of the channel between Paros and Naxos. It is run by Theo Filisanis, a local and experienced windsurfer and kitesurfer.

The establishment offers various activities and lessons for all experience levels and ages. There are kitesurfing, windsurfing and wing foiling lessons for both beginners and those who already have a higher skill level, operated by a professional and certified team. In addition, the club hosts courses for children. The lessons can be booked, either as standalone or in a series, and high-quality equipment is provided.
Other activities organized by Sun Wind include kayaking, stand-up paddling, water skiing, sea cycling and beach volleyball, among others. Customers have the option to rent the wanted equipment for any of the watersports offered or get theirs repaired by the club’s staff.

Furthermore, guests will find a surf shop on the premises, where they can buy accessories and equipment. For those who just want to relax on the beautiful beach, umbrellas and sunbeds are available to rent.

    Unsatisfied
I am a high level windsurfer, my wife is a medium level (not waterstarting but sometimes planing) and two children.

First impression of sunwind was pretty terrible. The gear was old and in most cases the boards had seen so much wear that they had no grip on the tops and had multiple repairs, sails also had many patches on them and were obviously well used, a few new ones in the bunch but generally repaired at least once or twice.

Theo (the owner) was extremely unhelpful and generally rude (not only to me but my kids and the instructors and pretty much anyone in the vicinity) and charged top end prices for pretty bad gear.

I gave it a go anyway because I thought "maybe this is how it is in Greece" also had a few lessons lined up for the kids.

Some of the instructors were very good and experienced but the others were terrible and either had no idea or didn't show any enthusiasm!

I managed to break a boom during my time there, after looking closely at it, it was obviously worn through from heavy use and poor care. Theo (the owner) tried to force me to pay for the damage that I knew was from wear and tear rather than neglect on my behalf!

Having talked to many of the locals, customers and some of the instructors I found that they ALL felt the same way about the equipment, prices and Theo's attitude. Nearly all instructors don't last a season (two instructors did this year apparently the only two for 8 years!) due to the work conditions (struggle for equipment to teach and Theo's attitude).

Very disappointed overall the beach was fine and the locals nice (mostly) but the sunwind club turned my holiday pretty sour.
