Arrest over illegal antiquities

• Category: News

A woman in her middle-fifties was arrested yesterday on Paros for illegal possession of valuable ancient artifacts. The authorities of the island confiscated from her eleven antiques, including nine pieces of ancient columns, discovered in her house and her husband’s hotel. The police authorities were on the island to investigate on the last-month case of illegal antiquities at the nearby island of Schinousa. Last month, police had found many illegal and valuable antique artifacts on Paros, in the villa of Marion True, former director of the J. Paul Getty Museum of Los Angeles. They also searched the house of an archaeologist but found nothing suspicious.
