The 3rd Paros Classical Music Festival came to an end on September 20, 2003 with a unique "finale" :a captivating performance by the renowned Swiss pantomimist and expert on body language, Irene Orda. Mrs. Orda was accompanied by a young pianist from Paros, Maroulia Kontou, and the artistic director of the Paros Festival and American pianist, Nancy Goldenberg.
Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Mrs. Irene Orda began learning ballet at the age of four. As she grew up, her interest in dance, movement, and music intensified, leading her to the study of other similar art forms. After studying dance, she joined the “Ecole de Mime Jacques Lecoq" and the "Ecole de Mime Magenia" in Paris. There she experimented with a variety of genres, including pantomime, tap dancing and acting. It was back in Zurich in 1986 that she developed her first full-length solo program and began her first public performances, at first in small theaters and gala evenings. At present Irene Orda is tirelessly involved in a multitude of activities: seminars in body language, workshops in pantomime, lectures and choreography design at acting schools.
