Pyrgaki Naxos: Pyrgaki is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Naxos that reflect the peace and serenity of the island. It is located in the southwestern coast of the island at a distance of 19 km south of Chora. This beautiful beach has some umbrellas and sunbeds for tourists, while the close restaurant also serves coffees, drinks and snacks.
The beach is frequently affected by the winds, so it is a nice spot for windsurfing. The shallow waters are a great advantage for children and the small forest areas form an unusual scenery. Driving south, the peripheral road of Chora will end at Pyrgaki. Other lovely beaches in the area are Sahara, Kastraki and Mikri Vigla.

The traditional wooden boat will depart from Agia Anna Port in the morning and for the next seven hours, will take you to the most amazing places. It will be a day full of activities and fun. The captain will make some swimming stops at Aliko, Rina and Kalados. Don`t forget your snorkeling gear because these are the perfect places to observe the underwater life. At Aliko you can also admire the sandy beach bordered by the cedar trees while Rina will offer you a unique wild landscape. Here, the image will be completed by the traditional Greek lunch cooked and served on the boat along with unlimited soft drinks, water or house wine. The final stop will be at Pyrgaki Beach and after this the boat will return.
There are many different ways to get to Pyrgaki from any location on the island.
Airport to Pyrgaki: 17.5 km / 10.8 miles | Port to Pyrgaki: 19 km / 11.8 miles | Chora to Pyrgaki: 19 km / 11.8 miles
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Naxos transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport or your hotel. Alternatively, there’s the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 22850 25835, 0030 22850 24829 or book your taxi online.
Car rental: Τhere’s the option of renting a car in Naxos with as little as 15 euros per day and pick it up directly from the airport, port or your hotel. Using a car rental allows visitors to discover Pyrgaki beach and many other places of interest in Naxos at their own pace.
Public transfers: The central bus station of the island is located at the port of Naxos. There are several buses from Chora to Pyrgaki during the day. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
From Naxos airport to Pyrgaki: Note that there is no bus station at the airport and the best option is to book a car or a transfer. If you still want to use the public bus, after exiting the airport buildings, follow the road to the left, the bus station (Naxos Camp) is located 500 meters away. From Naxos Camp, visitors can take the bus route Plaka - Agia Anna > Chora (approximately every 30 minutes during summer) to Naxos central station. From there, visitors should take a bus to reach Pyrgaki.
From Naxos port to Pyrgaki: The bus station is located at the port of Naxos. From there, visitors who have arrived by ferry to Naxos should take a bus to reach Pyrgaki.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop in every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination, so that he makes a stop there.
