Naxos Maragas Beach

General information

The beach of Maragas in Naxos is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. It follows after Agia Anna and Agios Prokopios beaches, while Plaka beach starts at its left end.
Altogether the beach stretches around 4 km.
It boasts fine sand and a few trees that provide bathers with shade. The waters are shallow and get gradually deeper, making the beach an ideal swimming destination for families with children. The sea is perfect for snorkeling, too, since rock formations create a beautiful underwater setting. Maragas is also known for having several of the unique eye-shells of Naxos, which you can admire while snorkeling or find on the shore.

Maragas beach is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds for anyone interested in renting beach gear.

A watersport center is located approximately 10 minutes away.
Last but not least, Maragas is home to one of the largest campsites on the island, so the beach can get crowded. Nudity is allowed in some spots, too.
