Below, you can find all the needed information about the buses in Mykonos:
Bus tickets & pricesRoutes

In brief, KTEL buses are the only means of public transfer and the cheapest way to move around Mykonos. Buses in Mykonos depart from three main stations (Fabrika, OTE, Old Port) and approach the most touristy spots on the island. Schedules are frequent during the high season (May to September).
For those who want to explore the pristine parts of the island, a car rental is recommended.

KTEL buses accommodate the needs of thousands of visitors every year and are considered the most reliable way of traveling around by those who do not have their own vehicles, especially during the summer season.
They are also the cheapest way to get from one place to another and allow you to reach the most popular towns, villages, and beaches easily.

Bus tickets

KTEL tickets can be purchased directly from the driver (cash only) or at the central stations. Their cost is usually between €1.50 and €2.50. Tickets can only be used once per route and no day passes are available.
The price depends on the length of the route. Night buses -when available- are slightly more expensive than day buses.

Condition

The KTEL fleet of Mykonos consists of 26 buses in total. They are modern and comfortable, with air-conditioning. Many of them have been specifically designed to offer sufficient luggage storage underneath, especially the ones used to serve passengers from/to the port or airport. You can store your suitcase or other luggage with no additional fees after purchasing your ticket.
Note: Unfortunately, the majority of KTEL buses are not wheelchair-friendly.

Special tourist services are available for cruise ship passengers and groups in need of a transfer from/to the port or airport of Mykonos. Bus rentals can be arranged as well.

Frequency

Many bus routes are seasonal and there are more schedules per day from May to September compared to any other time of the year.
For most locations, schedules start around 8:00 and end around midnight.
Approximately one bus route is available per hour, although at some locations, buses are available no more than a few times per day, from morning to evening.
Timetables change every year - the most reliable way of being aware of the itineraries is to check the schedule at the terminal station. Also, make sure to check out the official website for additional information.
