Tigani Beach in Mykonos: On the northeast tip of Mykonos you will find the beaches of Pano and Kato Tigani. They are located 14 away from Chora in the area of Profitis Ilias overlooking Tragonisi, a tiny island on the Aegean Sea that has enchanting sea caves. Both Pano and Kato Tigani are secluded, surrounded by a rocky landscape with little vegetation and without any houses around. Their waters are blue, cold and crystal-clear, while their coast has coarse golden sand. Thanks to their secluded location, very few people visit them compared to the most popular beaches of Mykonos, such as Super Paradise, Paradise, and Elia, that attract thousands of tourists each year because of the parties that are organized in the local beach bars and clubs.
Pano Tigani and Kato Tigani Beach are a unique destination for those seeking relaxation and a peaceful environment during their holidays in Mykonos. These beaches are also included among the gay-friendly spots on the island due to their isolation and privacy far away from the crowds. When visiting Pano or Kato Tigani you should keep in mind that they are not organized, in other words, there are no sunbeds or umbrellas available. In addition to this, you had better bring with you a bottle of water and some snacks since the mini markets and the restaurants are not located near these two beaches.
Access to Pano and Kato Tigani might frustrate visitors due to the long dirt road they have to cross by car to reach the beach, but even the most demanding visitor is rewarded as soon as he arrives and stares at the beautiful serene landscape. However, both beaches can be easily reached by a private boat through the sea. Within a short distance from Tigani, you will find Lia Beach, which is another lovely destination with white sand and charming waters, while if you go further south you will see Kalafatis Beach.
There are many different ways to get to Pano and Kato Tigani Beach from any location on the island.
Airport to Pano Tigani Beach: 16.5 km / 10.2 miles | New Port to Pano Tigani Beach: 17.9 km / 11.1 miles | Town to Pano Tigani Beach: 16.6 km / 10.3 miles
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Mykonos transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport or from your hotel. Alternatively, there’s the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 694 559 7854, 0030 22890 22400 or book your taxi online.
Car rental: You can also rent a car in Mykonos starting from 10 euros per day and pick it up directly from the airport, port or from your hotel. Using a car rental allows visitors to discover Pano Tigani Beach and many other places of interest in Mykonos at their own pace.
