How to get to Megali Ammos Beach

There are many different ways to get to Megali Ammos from any location on the island.
Airport to Megali Ammos: 2.5 km / 1.5 miles | New Port to Megali Ammos: 4 km / 2.4 miles | Town to Megali Ammos: 1.3 km / 0.8 miles

Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus, or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport, or your hotel. Alternatively, there’s the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver at the following numbers: 0030 694 764 1474, 0030 22890 22400, or booking your taxi online.

Car rental: There’s the option of renting a car and picking it up directly from the airport, port, or your hotel. Using a rental car allows visitors to discover Megali Ammos Beach and many other places of interest at their own pace.

Public transport: Note that there are two central bus stations in Mykonos Town: Fabrika and Old Port. There are bus connections between these bus stations and most areas of the island. Check the official timetables here.
From Mykonos Airport to Megali Ammos: A bus station lies outside the main terminal building. The bus route Airport > New Port (approximately every 1.5 hours) takes visitors to Fabrika central station (second stop). From Fabrika, Megali Ammos beach is a 7-minute walk away.
From Mykonos New Port (in Tourlos) to Megali Ammos: The bus station is located at the New Port of Mykonos, a 3-minute walk away from the passenger disembarkation area. From there, visitors who have arrived by ferry can take the bus route New Port > Old Port (approximately every 30 minutes) and get off at the terminal. From the Old Port, Megali Ammos is a 20-minute walk away.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop at every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination in advance.
