Kapari Mykonos: This is one of the few unorganized beaches of Mykonos, located behind the lovely chapel of Agios Ioannis. This is very calm, ideal for relaxing and enjoy its beautiful clear waters. Not far from the Chora but keep your eye out for signs because it is not a simple journey.
There are many different ways to get to Kapari from any location on the island.
Airport to Kapari: 6 km / 3.7 miles | New Port to Kapari: 9 km / 5.5 miles | Town to Kapari: 5.5 km / 3.4 miles
Private transfers: We recommend using an online pre-booked Mykonos transfer service, which provides transfer by taxi, minibus or private VIP car and arranging a pickup directly from the port, airport or your hotel. Alternatively, there’s the option of arranging a pickup by a local driver directly at the following numbers: 0030 694 559 7854, 0030 22890 22400 or book your taxi online.
Car rental: Τhere’s the option of renting a car in Mykonos with as little as 10 euros per day and pick it up directly from the airport, port or your hotel. Using a car rental allows visitors to discover Kapari beach and many other places of interest in Mykonos at their own pace.
Public transfers: Agios Ioannis is located close to Kapari beach (10-minute walk). In Agios Ioannis lies the terminal of the bus route Mykonos town (Fabrika) > Agios Ioannis. Note that there are two central bus stations in Mykonos town: Fabrika and Old Port. There are several buses from Fabrika to Agios Ioannis during the day. Consider that time schedules might change according to the season. Check the official timetables here.
From Mykonos airport to Kapari: There’s a bus station outside the airport’s main terminal building. The bus route Airport > New Port (approximately every 1.5 hours) takes visitors to Fabrika central station (second stop). From Fabrika, visitors should take another bus to reach Kapari, following the route Mykonos town (Fabrika) > Agios Ioannis.
From Mykonos new port (in Tourlos) to Kapari: The bus station is located at the new port of Mykonos, a 3-minute walk away from the passenger disembarkation area. From there, visitors who have arrived by ferry to Mykonos can take the bus route New Port > Airport (approximately every hour) and get off after 3 stops. From there, visitors need to reach the bus station of Fabrica (15-minute walk). From Fabrika, visitors should take another bus to reach Kapari, following the route Mykonos town (Fabrika) > Agios Ioannis.
Tip: Since buses don’t always stop in every scheduled stop of their itinerary, our advice to visitors is to inform the driver about their final destination, so that he makes a stop there.
