Milos Plakes Village
Plakes Village Milos: Plakes is a picturesque village near Plaka, gradually blending with the capital. It is a typical island village, made of little whitewashed houses and small paved streets. The village church, Agios Charalambos, houses one of the oldest icons of Milos. On the day after Good Friday, people gathered in Plakes to watch the ceremony during which the figure of the Christ was taken down from one of the three crosses standing on a hill above the village.
