Milos Arkoudes

General information

Located near Plathiena Beach, the majestic Arkoudes Beach in Milos is a rocky cluster and a hidden spectacle of the island!

Arkoudes is a gorgeous rocky islet complex right at the entrance of Milos Bay. Possibly a result of volcanic activity, these tall and impressive rocks are named Arkoudes (translating into bears) due to them being shaped like one, appearing as if they have a roaring open mouth, large ears, and a bear-like body! However, Arkoudes islets are only approachable by a tour or a private boat, where you can freely dip into the clear-blue sea near the sight.

    Lovely and cute
I will just say- yes, it really looks like a roaring bear from close.
We passed Arkoudes on our boat tour around the island and it was magnificent!
Some people just couldn't see the bear and instead it looked like a bunny to them, but ok. :) It's up to your imagination!
I didn't swim to these rocks from Plathiena beach.
