Milos Achivadolimni beach
Achivadolimni Beach Milos: Achivadolimni is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Milos. It is also called Chivadolimni by the locals. "Achivada" means clam in Greek, while "Limni" means lake; behind this beach, there is a small lake where you can see thousands of clams or conches living on the floor.
It is located at a distance of 11 km from Plaka, the capital of the island, and 7 km away from the port of Adamas on the road to Agia Marina. It is a large, sandy beach with shallow crystal waters stretching along the road. Near the beach of Achivadolimni, in the area of the airport, you will also see the old salterns of the island.
Windsurfing/ Kitsurfing in Achivadolimni
Milos Camping in Achivadolimni is the most popular windsurfing/ kitesurfing spot in Milos. To go there, take the airport direction from Adamas port and drive until the camping. The spot is situated just after the camping on the right side of the road. You can park on the road or take a dusty road that brings you just on the sandy beach.
This is a nice sandy beach with shallow water and onshore wind direction when the meltemi blows. There is a cliff on the right side of the spot and it is suggested to ride close to it as the wind is so strong there. The spot is very secure as the wind brings you back to the shore in case of any problem.
Good waves larger than 1.5m can show up with wind over 6bft. Wind period with Meltemi north direction: May to September.
