PlanesHow to move aroundFacilities

In brief, Milos has a national airport that receives domestic flights from Athens throughout the year. To reach Milos from other islands, taking the ferry is the only way to achieve it.

Milos Airport (MLO) is located in the region of Zefyria, 5 km southeast of Adamas, the village that hosts the main port of the island, connecting it with many others of the Cyclades, including Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos and Paros.
It is small and features a 1.030-meter-long runaway and limited facilities.
It is connected with the International Airport of Athens, welcoming domestic flights exclusively from the Greek capital.
Flights from Athens to Milos are available throughout the year, yet during the summer there are flights to Milos every day.

Planes

The airport of Milos receives direct flights from Athens only.
Sky Express and Olympic Air (which appertains to Aegean Airlines) are the two companies that fly to the island.
The average duration of a flight between the two is 40 minutes.

Public buses

The airport is connected to other areas via public buses (KTEL) that have regular itineraries during the summer. The bus stop lies just 100m from the airport and it won't be hard for you to track it. Buses head to Adamas, the village that hosts the island's main port.
Tickets are purchased inside the bus after your seating. The fare is 2€ regardless of your destination or duration of the drive.
Note: Buses in Milos don't carry out routes from/to the airport in winter. If you plan on visiting the island between October and May, do not rely on KTEL buses for leaving or reaching the airport.
The itineraries are frequent during the high season with a bus departing 7 times a day, starting at 11:00.
All KTEL buses have a storage space that travelers can use for free for their luggage.

Transfers & Taxis

Unlike other islands, there is no taxi rank outside the airport. However, you can call a local taxi driver and arrange a pick-up at the following numbers: 0030 694 5150381, 0030 694 5689966, 0030 694 5827039, or 0030 694 6010555.
Keep in mind that this may come with a fee charge.

Two car rental desks lie within the airport's premises.
Nonetheless, it is recommended to book your rental car in advance, so that you can leave immediately and not miss a minute of your vacation. In addition, you can choose the vehicle that meets your needs the most and keep it for as long as you want.

Facilities

The airport is small and limited to fundamental facilities. In particular, only two car rental desks and a cafe-canteen are part of the premises. Customs services are also available upon consultation with the airport and the customs office of Milos. Finally, it boasts a parking area that can host up to 28 cars and 5 small tourist buses.

Near the airport

If you look forward to exploring the island right after your arrival, you could start from the places of interest that are located in the airport's vicinity. The thermal springs of Alykes (1 km) and Achivadolimni beach (2 km) are both close to the airport and worthy of a visit!
