Milos Agios Ioannis beach

General information

Located on the western side of the island, Agios Ioannis Beach in Milos is a secluded bay, separated into three coves, all surrounded by high, impressive cliffs of volcanic origin. They all showcase sparkling golden sand and crystal-clear waters, while their geography protects them from intense winds.

The beach got its name from the monastery of Saint John (Agios Ioannis), which is situated nearby. It is the largest monastery of Milos, and yearly festivities take place there.

Agios Ioannis is not organized, so visitors will not find any facilities. It is recommended to bring the necessary equipment to spend the day under the hot summer sun, as natural shade is not available either. To access the beach, one has to follow a narrow dirt road that reaches up to one of the coves. The other two can be reached by swimming or boat, which is the safest option, as the track might be dangerous.
