12th Folktale and Storytelling Festival

The Centre for Study and Promotion of Myths and Fairytales, with the support of the Municipality of Kea and the Region of South Aegean, is organizing for the 12th year the Folktale and Storytelling Festival in Kea. This summer, the festival will last from July 19th to 27th, 2014, and the theme will be Language- Sorcery- Ritual.
With interesting storytellings, book presentations, workshops for children, a special tribute to the Greek poet Manos Eleftheriou, international participations and new story tellers, this Festival will spread with events all around the island and is about to charm once again young and adults.
The storytellings will start from the old streets of Korissia, will continue to the picturesque village of Otzias, the Folklore Museum of Mylopotamos, the blue-flagged beach of Koundouros, the springs of Elliniko and the sunset from Pisses beach, accompanied by music and dance.
Apart from Greek storytellers, there will also be participants from other countries, such as Torgrim Mellum Stene from Norway, Lamia Bedioui from Tynisia, Skevi Tsiaka and Valentina Theoharous from Cyprus, and the distinguishing Epythian storyteller Chirine El Ansary. The entrance to all events is free.
