Religious feasts & festivals

August 15th
The feast day of the Virgin Mary on 15th of August is the largest celebration in Iraklia which takes place in Panagia village. A holy mass is held in the morning followed by traditional music and dance.

April 23rd
In the village of Agios Georgios, on 23rd of April, the locals celebrate the feast day of Agios Georgios at the homonymous church.

November 16th
On the 16th of November, the island organized a local fair to honor the feast day of Agios Nektarios with food and wine.
