Ios Plakoto beach

General information

Found on the northern coasts of Ios Island, the beach of Plakoto in Ios is a shore with golden-brown sand and lots of large pebbles where the wave breaks! Its clear, light turquoise waters have normal depths and rocky seabed, meaning it is a fine destination for swimming and snorkeling with special water shoes! Plus, its pretty surrounding hills are filled with small-sized shrubs!

This U-shaped cove is non-organized, having an absence of on-the-beach facilities and nearby shops. Thus, it is recommended that you bring an umbrella and your essential beach equipment should you decide to visit Plakoto! A quiet, non-crowded beach destination in Ios, it can be visited by boat or by following a dirt track road, leaving you right at the shore!
