Austrian artist Helmut Kand is well-known across the world for his paintings and sculptures. Some of his work has been heavily inspired by the landscapes, sun, sand and sea of the Cyclades.
A regular visitor to the island, Kand has spent at least 40 summers on the island of Ios. His surrealistic paintings emphasize flying or floating objects based on the main theme of the landscape of Ios. His pieces of art have been hosted in various exhibitions and galleries across the world, including Greece, France, New York, Jakarta and Bali.
