Donoussa Agia Sofia Church

Location: Mersini

On a hill above Mersini village, there is the beautiful church of Agia Sofia with nice panoramic views of the blue Aegean Sea.
This small white and blue chapel overlooking Amorgos island is one of the most photogenic spots of Donoussa.
If you happen to visit the island in September don’t miss the local feast “panigiri” which takes place every 17 of September. Local food and wine are offered while there is a lot of traditional music and dancing celebrating Saint Sophia but also saying farewell to the summer season.
