Exhibition with old ship miniatures

A rare and special exhibition is taking place these days in Kairis Library in Andros, the island with the rich maritime tradition. The exhibition is entitled Travelling the waves with galleys and sailboats from the 5th century BC till the 19th century AD. The exbitis, 17 miniature ships, are works of Evangelos Grypiotis who has been studying and constructing ship models for the last 25 years. The exact impression of all the parts of the ship, even the interiors, make his works unique and give a realistic view of the ship at the time of its vigor. Along centuries, these ships connected continents, cultures and civilizations and made trade the main income for many countries. The exhibition will be open till the end of October.
