Jul 01, 2012 — Sep 30, 2012 • Category: Events

The Museum of Modern Art in Andros Cyclades is presenting an exhibition entitled Approaching surrealism. The exhibition will last for the entire summer 2012, from July 1st to September 30th. Through about 100 exhibits (works of collage, painting, sculptures, engravings, constructions and photos), the visitors of the exhibition will approach works of Greek and foreign artists.

This exhibition has two parts:
- The first part will refer to the historical course of this artistic movement that influenced so strongly the 20th century. The works of about 20 international artists will form this part.
- The second part will include literary and artistic reference to the artists that formed the Greek surrealism, including Andreas Empirikos, Odysseas Elytis, Nanos Valaoritis, Nikos Engonopoulos and others.
In the framework of the exhibition, there will be additional events, such as lectures and round table discussions.
