Open water diving course in Amorgos
• General info
General Description
Our meeting point will be Amorgos Diving Center, where we will meet our certified and experienced instructor. This is a three or four-day course full of diving lessons, shallow water practices, theory, and diving in an open-water scenario! We will train at the special practice pool and visit one of the available dive sites of Amorgos!
We will learn the most important aspects of scuba diving by using information from the website of the SSI (Scuba Schools International) organization, including key terms and all necessary safety precautions. Then, we will be taught the basics of using our scuba diving equipment (provided by the tour organizers), before we take our first steps in shallow-water diving.
As soon as we feel accustomed to our first challenge, we will move from the pool to one of the island’s dive sites and try open-water diving! These will be easy underwater sites, chosen specifically for beginner divers, and they may be sandy seashores, caverns, and various underwater caves!
By diving, we will have the chance to witness beautiful rock formations underneath the sea level, hidden coves, gorgeous reefs, and the lively ocean life of Amorgos! We can spot sea turtles, cuttlefish, octopuses, starfish, and many more species!
As we finish our course, we will be awarded an Open Water certificate, allowing us to dive anywhere at a maximum depth of 18 meters (or 59 feet)!
