Built atop a hill in the area of Lagada, the Monastery of (Agios Ioannis) Theologos in Amorgos dates back sometime between the 7th and 9th centuries. Its whitewashed basilica is dedicated to Saint John.
The monastery's location is quite secluded and you can only get there on foot from Langada.
The path to reach it (Trail 5) is a nice hiking route that takes approximately an hour. You will also come across a few other small churches on the way.
