Feast of the Assumption Amorgos 2019

The biggest festival in Amorgos, the feast of the Assumption, takes place on August 15th.
The festival is held in Panagia Epanachoriani, where local drinks, such as rakomelo, are served to the visitors. If you are a Greek cuisine lover, you can also taste some of the specialties of the island.
The feast of the Assumption takes place in Katapola village. After the liturgy in the church of the village, both locals and tourists participate in the procession of the sacred image of Holy Mary in the port. Visiting this festival just once isn’t enough. You’ll want to keep coming back every year!
