Amorgos Katapola

General information

The settlement of Katapola in Amorgos is the main port of the Cycladic island. This beautiful region is divided into three settlements called Katapola, Rahidi and Xilokeratidi.

Katapola occupies a large bay and is situated in the most verdant part of the island. An ancient Minoan site and a Mycenaean cemetery lie above the port.

Being the main port, Katapola offers accommodations, restaurants, nice bars and cafes. In fact, Katapola and Aegiali are the most tourist-developed spots in Amorgos.

The port of Katapola hosts the Psimeni Raki Festival which takes place on July 26th. Hundreds of people gather and dance, drink and eat for hours!
