Rethymno Weather

The weather in Rethymno is mild, the typical Mediterranean type, with mild winters and dry summers. In the seaside, the high temperatures change into moderate from the sea surface. Towards the interior and the mountainous areas the Mediterranean climate of Crete also changes dramatically like the Greek mainland where there are many variations, but still the weather is mild. The strong north and south winds are a usual phenomenon in the area. The long period of rainfalls lasts from the autumn until April and that is one characteristic of the Mediterranean climate.
